The team at GCRM have been really supportive and helpful throughout my journey. There are some reviews here about communication, but anytime I’ve sent a message to them on the portal I’ve received a quick response.
A huge thank you to everyone at TFP GCRM Glasgow Fertility. I had a wonderful experience and felt really cared for and supported throughout my journey.
GCRM have been amazing from start to finish, we were lucky enough to have success with our second round. Their communication is great and are really quick in getting back to you with any queries or concerns. I would like to thank Maureen one of the nurses for always putting me at ease and for making my experience so much nicer. Also Marco for both my transfers and speaking us through everything so thoroughly on our initial consultation. Both staff members where stand out and made out experience so much better. I am now 14 weeks pregnant and couldn’t be happier.
“Maureen: A Patient and Kind Nurse Who Made All the Difference!”
Maureen is a fantastic nurse. Extremely patient and kind, couldn’t have done it without her.
“Extremely Disappointing Customer Service Left Me Frustrated”
Horrible customer service… the lady was talking to me like I was an imbecile…superior and arrogant tone saying that if you want to use private services you have to pay TODAY… She offered me an appointment in one month I called back to reschedule to other location and Edinburgh and she just cut me off I’m sorry we can’t help, but now reading the reviews from clinic in Edinburgh makes sense to me. Just ruined my day…🥹😔
“My Disappointing Experience with TFP Glasgow: Seek Help Elsewhere!”
Looking through reviews it seems my experience is not unique.
Last year my husband and I had an initial consultation with one of the Dr’s at TFP Glasgow. We were dismissed very quickly and told to try for another 6 months to conceive naturally.
After I pushed a bit more he agreed to IVF, I then received emails stating we were booked for starting the IUI process which we had not agreed on. We had unexplained infertility (not male factor infertility) which would make an IUI pointless and a waste of time and money.
I then booked myself for an HSG procedure with another Dr the clinic and she agreed it was a vital step before IVF to clear any blockages and clear any fluid. At a later date the male Dr told me a HSG would not have been needed if we did IVF as we bypass the fallopian tubes?
Lo and behold I fell pregnant 2 months after the HSG procedure (miscarried) then conceived again the month after.
Strange how I get the procedure done (that he insisted was unnecessary?) then I fall pregnant twice naturally?
But anyway my advise is don’t go here and spend your money elsewhere such as the Glasgow Royal.
“Grateful for Great Care at GCRM, but Communication Needs Improvement”
Mixed bag with GCRM
– The nurses are great – especially Maureen who we were lucky to have on multiple occasions and was always patient and empathetic and explained everything fully. I was nervous about the internal scans and she made the experience significantly better. The Drs& nurses during my egg collection and my wife’s implanatation procedures were also brilliant.
– where GCRM falls down is communication and aftercare. We encountered a number of hidden costs and unclear communication around costs of medication which significantly added to our stress.
Ultimately we have been successful (so far) on our first attempt and I will always be grateful to GCRM but there are definitely a number of areas they could improve upon.
“Thrilled with My IUI Journey at GCRM Glasgow – Successful on the First Try!”
Very happy with our experience with GCRM Glasgow. They were really fantastic at communication, explaining everything and letting us know what was the next step at each point in the process. All the staff at the clinics were very professional and friendly. I went underwent IUI with donor sperm I sourced myself from a European Bank. I became pregnant on the first try and recently gave birth to my daughter. Thank you to GCRM x
“Disappointed with Communication and Care During IUI Treatment Process”
Now just I gave booking to get IUI treatment yet. But I feel it is very great service because of explaining to understand well. In fact, My guessing is wrong because Now I am tasting my ovulation day 16th . But I think their administration skill is not good 😌. Because I sant messages and called ph again and again but reply is so late. Some messages were being ignored. It’s so terrible 😞. And A Nurse told me, she would give injections for my ovulations and sent a video how to use it . After final our meeting , we asked them , but she gave only testing for ovulation. Never gave injections and sant video. Then after I got my period time, I asked them how to do my next step, and they tell me check my urine . I have any got ovulation until 16th. I asked them 14th by sending email. But they never reply, and we went to clinic and asked them, but it is not working. And We called and asked again. But their replying was not enough answering detail .and they told us they will check my cause but I was waiting the whole day , they never called back and sent any messages . But I have no chance to get baby because of my age . And I told them my feelings but they didn’t care about my feelings . This is very important cause for me, and all mothers. And there is a cause that is limited time and needs to do in time. I want to tell more but my feeling is not good to tell more. Very terrible service and never respected feelings of consumers.
“Disappointed by Conflicting Advice and Poor Communication: I Chose to Leave TFP for Better Care.”
We found the initial onboarding process and getting tests done positive and straight forward. We then had a consult with a doctor who wasn’t based in Glasgow but the wider TFP network. The doctor said things we weren’t expecting on odds of success, managing risks etc. but we assumed she was right. We then got a follow up letter summarising our consultation signed by a different doctor, based in Glasgow. The letter did not reflect the consultation and the information around success and risks was what we had expected, not what was said to us.
This raised concerns for us. We had two doctors tell us significantly different things in a way that means one of them was concerningly wrong. We were also concerned about how this reflected on their internal communication- why would a letter not reflect the consultation?
We submitted a complaint to TFP, the route signposted as the official route on the GCRM website. We never got a response. A bit later we got a sales call from GCRM asking if we wanted to proceed, showing no awareness of the complaint. Upon the suggestion of the person who called, we forwarded the the complaint to GCRM directly.
The response we got was from a GCRM doctor and the way he spoke to my partner was patronising and insensitive. He seemed keen to explain away the problem and would barely even let my partner speak. This is obviously out of line in itself but the clinic and the network (TFP) seemed unable to constructively engage with concerns about their practice and competency. This should have been an opportunity to re-gain our trust but they failed to do this. If we had raised concerns they assessed as legitimate, this would have been a chance for them to learn and improve.
We decided we didn’t have the confidence in them to continue and went elsewhere.
