My wife and I went to the Fertility Center for a consultation at the beginning of September. The reception was very friendly and helpful. After a short time, the doctor came and asked us into the room. Rarely have I seen such a loving doctor like Ms. Morkune. She took a lot of time for us explained it to us very well, thank you very much for this, keep it up 👍🏻
I thought for a long time whether I should share my experience.
A few months ago I was treated for “social freezing” at the fertility center. I was asked about my husband twice and the first time it was directly as a greeting. By the way, many cancer patients also come to social freezing and this greeting is not particularly empathetic. The data sheets could also be processed slowly. A gentleman as the only possible contact is absolutely no longer up to date. Generally very poor accessibility. Reply to emails either delayed after several days or not at all. After the treatment I still had questions, which were not answered at all. Even when the medication started and I urgently needed a check-up appointment, I had to make a phone call afterwards because there was no answer to my email or voicemail. However, I was always very satisfied with the medical treatment. Except for the anesthesia. When I said, “I’m a little afraid of the anesthesia,” I was told on the way to the changing room that no one could force me and that I was doing this voluntarily. Of course, this statement didn’t relax me at all. In the end everything worked out well. However, at times I didn’t feel well looked after and especially with a treatment like this that lasts weeks and is also nerve-racking, I simply expect more!
I was there with my husband for a consultation last month. I’ve been thinking about whether to write a review or not for a few weeks now. I think my anger has somewhat dissipated so that I can write a somewhat objective review.
My husband first had a spermiogram done on the date in question. At the subsequent appointment we were briefly informed that the sperm were not sufficiently mobile and only ICSI was an option. Afterwards, people philosophized about my weight for an eternity. I know that being overweight is not optimal and it can prevent you from getting pregnant. We are also aware of all the other risks that come with being overweight. So far there has been no reason and my gynecologist has not found any causes or abnormalities in me. Nevertheless, not a word was said about the fact that smoking, alcohol consumption, poor diet or the medications my husband takes were reasons for the poor sperm quality. The only discussion was about my weight. So far so good. I could have lived with that. However, when I received a letter home about a week later with the diagnosis “primary sterility” I almost fell off my stool. I received this eye diagnosis without any examinations or anything else. I think it’s an absolute disgrace and I can’t recommend anyone who is overweight to visit this clinic.
We arranged an appointment here based on the “special consultation hours” advertised on the Internet. We have already had to experience recurring miscarriages and thought we could get help there.
When I called there and asked for an appointment, I was told that my husband first had to have a spermiogram done there for €470 (private insurance) and at the urologist’s for €90. There would then be an additional €50 for the consultation hour.
Since my husband was unable to attend the spermiogram appointment the day before the consultation, I wanted to reschedule the appointment.
Then Mrs. Dr. called. Schwarz approached me and offered to treat me without a spermiogram for the time being because I already have a child with my husband and got pregnant quickly, but the pregnancy couldn’t be maintained.
When I came into the practice with my husband today I was greeted with:
” CARD AND TRANSFER welcomed. “
When I then said that we didn’t have a spermiogram yet, but that it had already been clarified with the doctor and that today it was just about me.
The woman at the registration desk did not agree to this…. My husband, who is only supposed to go into the treatment room with me as emotional support, also provides his details and card (privately insured 😉) in order to be able to bill.
When I made it clear that he didn’t want to be treated but only wanted to accompany me, they said: either you go in alone or your husband will get a bill from us.
THAT’S NOT NORMAL ??????
During none of my doctor’s visits did my companion have to pay anything or give his card!?!?!?
They just said, go somewhere else if it doesn’t suit you!
We will do that now too!!!!
It’s a shame that it was my first appointment at a fertility clinic and it takes a lot of effort to take this step.
I am always open to further conversation.
To the Turkish lady at the registration desk, whose name I couldn’t find on the homepage:
Please be a little more sensitive with the patients, you don’t know how much it costs people to get in touch with you!
Best regards
