Is the clinic still in operation?
I went and did my first consultation last week. Have been trying and calling everyday since then to schedule the result appointment. But the call never goes through. I emailed them, and filled the form on the website. But no one ever gets back. The automatic email reply tells me to download the app and when I did it tells me to call the same number. It’s a dead end. Did it just go out of business or something? Can someone tell me what the correct number to call???
Edit: I finally was able to reach out to them with my friend’s phone. On my second appointment i already indicated that I would like to proceed, and I was counting on the front desk to help me resolve the communication problem. However, there was 0 willingness to help and the nonchalant attitude is abhorrent. I cancelled the next appointment on the spot because I can’t deal with the extra frustration from the admin incompetence to the process. Being able to communicate should be the most basic thing. And I swear I am the most considerate client one can get – I simply need to get in touch to make appointment!
But the receptionist also offered no help when I told him I won’t go forward just because this communication issue is not resolved. He did not express willingness to help, or that he was sorry there was a problem, nor offer to pass the problem to someone else who might be in a better position to help. He simply said “if you wish to cancel the next appointment then I would be happy to do it for you. It’s ok. “ (????)
They don’t care if you come or go. There is no evaluation on customer satisfaction. I can’t imagine going through the process with this kind of client support.
I was really disappointed with my experience at this clinic. I traveled from the U.S. to Portugal specifically for an egg-freezing procedure. I had my initial consultation and blood work with IVI in April, which went smoothly. The clinic appeared modern, well-organized, and professional. I was optimistic and arranged for a follow-up appointment in July to begin the process.
However, things started to go wrong during the July appointment. First, the scheduling department mixed up my appointment date. While they did correct the issue, I had to return to the clinic a few hours later, which was inconvenient. During the follow-up, I was given estrogen pills and instructed to call once my cycle started to begin hormone injections. When I did exactly that, I was shocked to find out the clinic would be closed for two weeks—information that was never disclosed to me in either the initial or follow-up consultations. This was incredibly frustrating as they knew I had traveled from abroad specifically for this procedure.
They then recommended I take a pill to regulate my period, something they should have suggested from the start, knowing my situation. To make matters worse, this advice came from the front desk staff, and it took several calls and persistent follow-ups just to speak with a doctor about alternative options. I reached out to other fertility clinics in the area, but most required an initial consultation, which meant I missed that cycle and had to wait for the next one.
I felt the staff and doctor were cold, unhelpful, and unprofessional. When dealing with international patients, there should be more transparency and better solutions.
Ultimately, I went to Ferticentro in Coimbra, which is about 1.5-2 hours from Lisbon. Although the clinic is older, the experience was fantastic. The staff, including doctors and nurses, were incredibly caring and attentive, and they are used to accommodating international patients within tight timelines. I went through the entire process alone, but I felt supported every step of the way. I highly recommend Ferticentro over IVI based on my experience.
We have tried for 2 months to get an appointment in Lisbon as this is where we now live but everytime we call the lisbon number we are forwarded to Spain and the Spanish say that its impossible for us to call Lisbon as their horrible phone sustem does not permit jt.

Me and my husband arrived at this clinic for fertility treatments after we had a bitter experience with another clinic in Lisbon where which all the doctors were males and they were not professional enough.
Thanks to Dr Tatiana Semenova, I got pregnant after the first treatment at IVI clinic. I must mention that the entire team that treated me including the nurses, the anesthesiologist, the doctors who performed the egg retrieval – they were all super professional women and I felt that this time I was finally in good hands! At the age of 43 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
I give only 4 stars out of 5 because the communication with the team at the reception and the nurse who accompanied me in the process was a bit hard and sometimes when I had urgent questions regarding prescriptions or medications, I did not receive a reply on time.
Overall – In terms of the medical process and the facilities – I had a very good experience with this clinic and I thank you so much for helping me become a mom!
We started our journey with IVI exactly one year ago. Doctor Tatiana Semenova immediately welcomed us and accompanied us on this journey. It wasn’t easy, but thanks to his attention and skills, today we had the ultrasound and felt our son’s heartbeat.
Thanks also go to every single person who works in the clinic, to the support we have had from all the staff, nurses and doctors, today we await our gift.
Super competence and humanity were the key elements to make our dream come true.

I’ve had a great experience with Dr Tatiana and the IVI team. I had two online consults before coming to Lisbon for three weeks to do the fertility preservation (egg freezing). I felt heard when I’d bring up any concerns or had questions about my protocol. They would always call me within a few hours after I’d send a message in the online portal if I had any questions or had to notify them of something. On the day of my procedure, I felt really looked after before and during recovery the couple of hours after. While it’s not an easy process, I think the IVI team definitely made things easier and the results exceeded my expectations. I would recommend!
I just had the most horrible experience with IVI Lisbon.
I was going to freeze my eggs and go through an ovarian stimulation. Neither my gynecologist in France nor the pharmacist understood the prescription that IVI gave me. It took me days to be able to reach them and when I eventually did, they told me to “calm down”. I was about to travel to Portugal, had to start the treatment within the next 28 days because this is how long the hormonal treatment can last once sold and I was given zero indications on how to proceed.
IVI said there were going to send the protocol to me, I called, sent emails, but never heard back. Resulted that I travelled all the way to Portugal for nothing and than the thousands of euros hormonal treatment is good for the bin.
I’ve never written a review like this, but honestly this is one of the worse experiences I’ve had in my life.
I strongly recommend not going with this clinic that clearly lacks not only empathy but also crucially experience and organizational skills.
“Disorganized and Uncaring: My Disappointing Experience with IVI Lisboa”
A very terrible experience with IVI Lisboa right from the start.
They schedule your for test without informing you of the costs (just FYI our first tests were 185 euros), but when you get there the receptionists don’t really tell you anything and they send you away pretty fast. They don’t even tell you at what time you have the appointment.
You have a chat with a Doctor afterwards and you receive prescriptions in your app and medication scheduling, but right before you start taking them you get a call asking you to come (250 km back and forth) for another ultrasound (that could have been done a week before when my partner had an ultrasound) and to ignore the scheduled medication from the app.
And they call you on Saturday to inform you that you are scheduled on Monday morning to come to Lisbon (250 km), but on Monday they call you to let you know they scheduled you on Tuesday…
Probably they have too many customers and they stopped caring and treating couples as patients and started treating them as cattle.
Interestingly enough, when you complain about a couple of things in their app, your access gets cut off.
I really think they lack empathy and care for their patients. I would not recommend.
