Waited over hour and the doctor never showed up.
It was in the middle of a working day. They asked us to come 30 mins before the scheduled time. My wife and I had to take a couple hours off the office. And then waited as our appointment time came and passed. At reception we were asked to wait “just a bit more” a couple of times, before we decided to cut our losses and cancel the appointment.
Asked to reach at 2pm. Appointment time was 2.30. Left at 3.15.
Edit: Hello team, thanks for the response. We waited 15 minutes after the doctor was apparently already in the office, and left when we did not see any end to the wait. Of course, it was our decision to quit, because we have wages to earn as well. And can’t just wait at the clinic. Since we were asked to come 30 mins early, we took 2.5 hours off from work. Adding another hour to it didn’t make sense.
On another note, will the doctor wait in the clinic if his last appointment was running ‘only’ 45 minutes late?
We went to the Ceres Fertility Center
Berlin
and are extremely disappointed with the experience. We were told by the local doctors that it was impossible for us to become biological parents naturally. This news was of course devastating. But to our surprise and despite the diagnosis, my wife was pregnant after just two months.
The misdiagnosis not only put a lot of emotional strain on us, but also severely shook our trust in the center’s medical expertise. Such inaccurate statements can unnecessarily unsettle and rob hope from couples who find themselves in an already difficult situation. We would definitely not recommend this center.
“Thrilled to Discover Dr. Hannen’s Exceptional Care at This Well-Organized Practice”
Very well organized and pleasant practice. We have Dr. Hannen is an extremely competent and experienced doctor and we are happy to have found our way here
“Finally Pregnant After 4 Failed Attempts—Thanks to Dr. Hannen and Dr. Stoll!”
This was our third fertility center and was the only one that successfully managed to get me pregnant. The previous center had given me a 5% chance of a successful pregnancy (after 4 failed pregnancies and three transfers). Dr. Hannen and Dr. Stoll are a great team, but they couldn’t be more different. Dr. Hannen is a guy you have to get used to, but he is highly competent in the approach he takes and always means well. I have never experienced a fertility doctor who takes a holistic approach – this is particularly recommended in complicated cases with previous illnesses. Dr. Stoll is very sensitive and has always been right with his assessment, even in the event of complications. He was there for me in emergencies even on weekends. Both doctors are extremely experienced and you should listen to them, but always keep an overview yourself. Without this practice I would have had to say goodbye to my long-standing desire to have children! So it worked out very late at 41. Thank you Dr. Hannen and Dr. Great!!!
Confused and Frustrated by Inconsistent Medical Advice During Our Fertility Journey
– we were constantly treated by a different doctor
– They wanted to suggest ICSI to us straight away, even though the problem was with my wife -> two other clinics recommended that we start with insemination first and then, if at all, IVF
– with the information to Dr. Stolled at the fact that we already had a biochemical SS, he just said that it didn’t mean anything
-Dr. Stoll recommended a laparoscopy, Dr. Hannen advised against it -> the doctors disagreed, we didn’t know what to do next
– only those from Dr. The iron infusion recommended by Hannen seemed to be helpful, exactly one cycle before we wanted to start, my wife naturally became pregnant (3 months after the infusion) and they wanted to sell us an ICSI straight away 😅
Very professional clinic! I came especially from Vienna for a professional exchange! Anyone who would like to improve their initial situation with orthomolecular medicine in addition to established reproductive medicine should contact Dr. Hannen is exactly right! This first-hand expertise should not be missed. You usually have to see other specialized doctors for this. Specialized in orthomolecular medicine and an expert in reproductive medicine, you cannot find this combination in Vienna! As I said, I’m here specifically because of Dr. Hannen’s expertise came to Berlin. Top professional and above all great how he passes on his knowledge! As a colleague, I can only thank him and all patients are encouraged by Dr. to have Hannen supported.
I can highly recommend CERES.
Within 7 months I was pregnant and my baby is now 2 months old. My pregnancy was also uncomplicated. I decided on ICSI and was 40 when I started treatment.
Previously had bad experiences in Dresden. I was primarily with Dr. Stoll and Dr. Carstea. I met the biologist and that was great too. Contemporary, modern diagnostics, friendly, fast service, great advice on important micronutrient management. I was happy to take this route.
Also recommended for non-heteronormative relationships and single moms to be.

“Frustrated with Inexperienced Doctors and Confusing Practices at the Fertility Center”
Each time we had a different inexperienced doctor who seemed to us as if she was just repeating what she had learned by heart instead of answering our questions satisfactorily. Each time we received different and unhelpful statements. That’s when we really noticed the doctors’ lack of experience.
In addition, you get very confusing and long copied information material for men and women. The information is a mixture of citations from medical sources that are completely incomprehensible and a few helpful behavioral information. Everything is tiresomely repeated and you have to look for helpful information between the medical explanations.
We found the procedure at reception really problematic. Here each of the (strangers) standing in the small anteroom can overhear everything personal. In addition, you will receive sales offers here after (!) the conversation with the doctors. We were asked several times whether we would like an extended spermiogram, for example. When asked what it was for, the receptionist couldn’t answer. She also couldn’t respond to the fact that we had just been to the doctor two minutes ago and why she hadn’t recommended it to us and explained it accordingly. That’s what doctor’s consultations are for!? Why do people try to sell a treatment without being able to explain what it is for – in the presence of strangers? This has always put us in an unpleasant pressure situation where we assume that it is done that way. Otherwise, I cannot explain why this aspect has not yet been noticed in such a sensitive environment or, to be honest, it also speaks for the other non-transparent processes in this center. My husband apparently gave in to this situation unknowingly and agreed to and signed this extended examination at reception. The bill was not accepted by the KV and was absurdly high. When we asked, the fertility center said that my husband had signed it. Without medical knowledge and in the pressure situation, how can one understand so quickly what is going on? The bill listed an absurd number of items with medical terms that we simply can’t seem to translate into what my husband signed. This is also very opaque from our point of view.
We are now in a very experienced practice in Dahlem and feel very well looked after! All questions are answered, you know what you have or don’t have and there are no surprises with the bills.
“Grateful for a Supportive and Successful KiWu Journey with a Great Team”
We are writing a very detailed review because we have been looking for a KiWu center/clinic for a long time and would like to provide more information to everyone who is still looking:
Our journey to having children began about a year and a half ago. We are both in our 40s and I have Hashimoto, an underactive thyroid. So we knew it would be more of a marathon and not a sprint. But in the end it didn’t take that long. It worked on the third try. In between we had to take a half year break because of a Hashimoto flare-up. We went to three different doctors (it depends, among other things, on which doctor is there when the woman’s cycle begins). We were very satisfied with all three doctors (Dr. Hannen, Dr. Mergel and Dr. Stoll).
What was important for us: We received detailed advice from all doctors, both on the medical aspects and on the costs. It was always explained in detail what costs we would incur and what additional options there were. The treatment plan with the individual measures was individually coordinated with us each time.
We had three ICSIs in total, and the third one worked. What made the process easier for us:
Good accessibility and quick appointments
Well-organized and well-coordinated team (we always received feedback very quickly, which should not be underestimated when dealing with a nerve-wracking topic)
For the result of the SS test (blood test), an appointment is made with the treating doctor, who you then reach at the agreed time (we know from friends that this was not the case for you during the KiWu treatment and in some cases it was more than… Had to wait on hold for 30 minutes)
It was also nice that the practice was modern and relaxed. The atmosphere in the practice is also very pleasant. We perceived the interaction between the doctors, biologists and MFAs as very positive.
The surgical team was also very warm and looked after me very well and thanks to their very positive manner, Dr. Hannen and Dr. Stoll the excitement before the operation. You’re no longer nervous during the second operation because you already know the procedure.
You can tell from the processes that doctors, biologists, the surgical team and the MFA are a well-coordinated team. This gave us immense confidence that we were in the best hands. Most recently we were with Dr. Stoll is being treated, to whom we are very grateful for his sensitive and optimistic manner. In the end, it was difficult for us to say goodbye to the entire team, who took incredibly great care of us. We would like to say a big thank you to the medical assistants and the women at reception for never dismissing our concerns and, in an emergency, for consulting with the doctors too much rather than too little.
Despite the difficult topic, there were always funny moments that were essential for us. We loved being able to laugh with the team, it made the trip easier for us. Overall, we felt so comfortable in the practice that we would have preferred to stay there until the end of the pregnancy. It’s clear to us that we’ll be back for baby number 2!
